Herbert L. 'Herb' Beers, 82
SEAFORD - Herbert L. "Herb" Beers, of Seaford, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Genesis Elder Care, Seaford. He was 82.
Mr. Beers was a retired engineer for General Dynamics in Avondale, N.J.
He was a deacon at the Seaford Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Beers was a member and past master of Essex Masonic Lodge 7, F&AM, Newark, N.J., and was their treasurer for many years. He also attended Hiram Lodge 21 AF&AM, Seaford.
He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 87th Infantry. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Mr. Beers was the son of the late Tom and Ethel Beers. His wife, Ruth Virginia (Tull) Beers, died in 2003.
He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Eunice and Raymond Pearce of Herndon, Va.
Masonic services will be 2 p.m. Friday, followed by funeral services, at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m.
Burial will be later at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
