GEORGETOWN - Herbert A. Tunis, Sr. passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at home. He was born in Lewes, son of the late Frank A. and Dorlena (Baynum) Tunis. Herbert served in the Marines for 6 years, followed by the Army National Guard, where he retired after 21 years. He then was owner and operator of Herb's Auto Repair for many years. Herb was a member of Franklin Lodge #12 and American Legion Post #28. He enjoyed fishing, traveling to Florida and motorcycle riding. He is survived by his wife, Karen (Kreshka) Tunis; three children, Herbert E. Tunis, Jeffrey Tunis, and Herbert Allen Tunis, Jr.; seven siblings, Frank A. Tunis, Donald Tunis, William Tunis, Pat Murphy, Linda Green, Nancy Williams, Shirley Littleton; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, June 29, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown where friends may call after 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Children' Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, Pa. 19104.
