Mears Jr., 70 GEORGETOWN - Henry D. "Dale" Mears Jr., 70, of Georgetown passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 7, 2015 after a courageous fight with cancer. Mr. Mears was born in Georgetown the son of the late Henry D. and Mary E. (Nash) Mears Sr. He was an auto and small engine mechanic and served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves for 13 years. He was an avid Nascar fan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Gerald, and Glenwood Mears. He is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Taylor and Yvonne Mears; three brothers, William, Ronald, and Lloyd Mears; two grandchildren, Dylan and Kaitlyn Taylor; and a host of extended family. A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Friday January 16, 2014 in the chapel of Providence United Methodist Church, Shortly Rd., Georgetown, DE 19947. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Short Funeral Services 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947 to help defray funeral expenses.
