DENTON, Md. - Henry M. Bareford Jr. of Denton, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, in Talbot House-The Pines in Easton. He was 82.
Mr. Bareford was born in Kino, Va., son of the late Henry Meade Sr. and Mildred Ruth (Brubaker) Bareford.
He was a graduate of Caroline High School in Denton.
Mr. Bareford was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving as an aviation machinist in the Pacific.
He became a jeweler having worked at Gustav Good's Jewelry store in Denton, and was owner of the Harrington Jewelry store and Rust Jewelry in Georgetown, Del.
Mr. Bareford was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Denton, a life member of William R. Singleton-Hope-Lebanon Lodge 7 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Washington, D.C. and a member of Caroline American Legion Post 29 in Denton, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Rose Zimmerly, Ruth New and Pauline Shaffer.
He is survived by a daughter, Gail Stansbury of Annandale, Va.; two sisters, Louise Bareford of Annapolis and Betty Bareford of Bowie; two grandchildren, Amie Hess and Tiffany Stansbury; and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Victoria and Brianna.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St., Denton, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Denton Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Caroline Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 362, Denton, Maryland 21629.
