Henry George "Shorty" Wilhelm

FELTON - Henry George "Shorty" Wilhelm of Felton died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, in Green Valley Pavilion, Smyrna. He was 85.

Mr. Wilhelm was born Oct. 12, 1921, in Denton, Md., son of the late Elmer George and Iva Dawson Wilhelm.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater.

Mr. Wilhelm, a lifetime resident of the area, was a propane mechanic for Greensboro Supply for 20 years.

He enjoyed country music, camping, visiting local beer taverns and playing pool.

Mr. Wilhelm was a member of Caroline Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7937.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Barry Wilhelm; a brother, Ralph "Shorty" Wilhelm; and a sister, Eloise Wilhelm.

He is survived by a son, John M. Wilhelm Sr. of Peach Bottom, Pa.; two daughters, Patricia L. Lock of Felton and Phyllis A. Wilhelm of Woodside; five brothers, Elmer Wilhelm of Texas, James "Willy" Wilhelm of Pennsylvania, and Stanley "Stan" Wilhelm, Robert "Bob" Wilhelm and Clifford "Cliff" Wilhelm, all of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be noon Thursday in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, Md., where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
