Henry Bowman, 85

MARYDEL, Md. - Henry Bowman of Marydel died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, in Pines-Genesis Elder Care Hospital, Easton. He was 85.

Mr. Bowman was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Parson, Tenn., son of the late Silas and Carrie (Boyd) Bowman.

Mr. Bowman was a decorated U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II and as a motion picture photographer during the Vietnam War.

He continued his career in the Army at Fort Meade as a motion and still life photographer, filming presidents and other major figureheads.

He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He retired in 1974.

Mr. Bowman was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the WWII Blue Devils, 88th infantry division.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carolyn M. Bowman; two sons, Clay G. Bowman of Sebastian, Fla. and Henry B. Bowman of Humboldt, Tenn.; two daughters, Carolyn D. Haslup of Marydel and Lori D. Stag of Millersville, Md.; and three granddaughters.

Graveside services with military honors will be 11 a.m. Friday in Rose Hill Cemetery, Humboldt.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Humboldt.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Caroline Hospice Foundation; P.O. Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.
