Helen (Hafner) Thomas, 86

BOWERS BEACH - Helen (Hafner) Thomas of Bowers Beach died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, in her home. She was 86.

Mrs. Thomas was born March 14, 1921, in West Chester, Pa., daughter of the late Elmer and Helen E. (Larsen) Hafner.

She was a homemaker and the secretary for 20 years of Clifford Thomas Fencing, a business her husband owned and operated in Clifton Heights, Pa.

The Thomas's moved to Delaware 14 years ago and settled in the Bowers Beach area.

Helen enjoyed her involvement with a local club called the Spring Chickens, reading and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Hafner and George Hafner; and a sister, Ida Dorricott.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clifford J. "Cliff" Thomas; and a sister, Nancy Vickery of Bowers Beach.

Services and burial will be private.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, Lotus Plaza, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901; or to Debbie's Fund for Animals, c/o The Felton Bank, attn: D. Andrews, 698A N. DuPont Highway, Milford, DE 19963.
