Helen M. Weaver, 87

SMYRNA - Helen M. Weaver of Smyrna passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. She was 87.

She was born in Charlotte, N.C., and spent most of her life in Delaware.

Mrs. Weaver was employed as a secretary with the Delaware State Hospital, and retired after many years of service.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was an avid NASCAR fan, and was especially a big fan of Jeff Gordon.

In addition, Mrs. Weaver enjoyed going to the slots and on luncheon dates with her friends.

She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Elkton, Md.

Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her husband, Richard P. Weaver; and a daughter, Joyce Allen.

She is survived by two sons, Floyd Weaver of Charlotte, N.C., and Dennis Weaver and his wife Sabina of Oswego, N.Y.; a daughter, Gail Wilson and her husband Ron of Bear; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be privately held in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.

Contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of choice.
