DOVER - Helen F. Bobola, of Dover, passed away Thursday March 27, 2008, at her home with family. She was 76.
She was born on April 18, 1931, in Long Island, N.Y., to the late Frank and Mary Knakal Kouril.
Mrs. Bobola was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Dover, Delaware State Grange for more than 50 years. With her husband, they were members of the Delaware Farm Bureau for 25 years, received the Family Farm of the Year award in 2000, and was a member of the Wilmington Alley Cats.
She moved to Delaware with her husband from Long Island in 1955 and started farming.
Mrs. Bobola was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore P. Bobola who died in February 2008.
She is survived by son and his wife, Theodore P. and Maria Bobola, Jr. of Dover; daughter, Mary Ellen Bobola of Dover; daughter and her husband, Paula and Chris Zimmerman of Magnolia; daughter, Carolyn K. Bobola-Smith of Kenton; daughter, Beverly Neuman of Minnesota; daughter and her husband, Janet and Scott Butler of Magnolia; 13 grandchildren; and a beloved caregiver, Kathy Dixon.
Remembrance services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Christ Episcopal Church, Dover.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Trader Funeral Home, Dover.
Burial will be at the Christ Churchyard, Dover.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Delaware Hospice, 911 Lotus Plaza, Dover, DE 19901.
