Hazel Virginia Furrow, 81

MILLSBORO - Hazel Virginia Furrow of Millsboro died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, in her home. She was 81.

Mrs. Furrow retired from Stockley Center, Georgetown in the dining corps and in the clothing department. She also worked for Monroe"s in Millsboro. She had just finished 10 years of service at Wawa in Millsboro where she was considered the Coffee Queen, serving 10,000 cups of coffee per week.

No matter where she went, she would find somebody she knew. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Furrow was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Millsboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Ralph and Mary Oliphant Collins; her husband, Martin E. Furrow in 2004 after 59 years of marriage; four brothers, George Collins, Norman Collins, Harley Collins and Ralph Collins; and three sisters, Emma Pace, Jerdie Shockley and Verdie Mae Hickman.

She is survived by a sister, Marie Willey of Leonardstown, Md.; a son and a daughter-in-law, Martin A. Sr. and Iris Furrow of Bramwell, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Martin Jr. Furrow and Alison Gardenhour; and four great-grandchildren; Madalyn Emma Gradenhour, Abraham Furrow, Anna Furrow and Jacob Gardenhour.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The Rev. Rob Townsend will officiate.

Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery.
