Harry Robert Schwartz, 54

HARTLY - Harry Robert Schwartz, of Hartly, died Wednesday, April 22, 2008, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 54.

Mr. Schwartz was born May 13, 1953, in Philadelphia, to the late William P. Schwartz and Thelma Nassau Schwartz. He had lived in Delaware since 1981.

Mr. Schwartz served in the U.S. Air Force during Desert Storm. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1995 after 21 years of service. After his retirement he worked civil service at Dover Air Force Base as a civilian NDI Specialist.

Mr. Schwartz was an avid bowler and belonged to A&A bowling league and the Saturday night moonlight bowling league.

Mr. Schwartz is survived by his son, U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. William P. Schwartz and his wife Jennifer, stationed in Japan; his daughter, Temma S. Schwartz of Dover; his brother, David Schwartz and his wife Carol of Philadelphia; his sister, Rabbi Beth Schwartz and her husband Lawrence Washington of Knoxville, Tenn.; his fiance, Caroline Lewis of Hartly; and the mother of his children, Stephanie Kukla Schwartz of Woodside.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.

Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, DE 19904, to help defray funeral costs.
