Harry C. 'Cliff' Findley, 74

SMYRNA - Harry C. "Cliff" Findley of Smyrna, formerly of Townsend, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008. He was 74.

Born March 15, 1933, in Street, Md., he was the son of the late Walter P. and Irma (Laird) Findley.

Mr. Findley proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He worked at Middletown Service Center as a mechanic for more than 20 years.

For the past five years, Mr. Findley worked at NAPA in Middletown.

He enjoyed working on cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John C. Findley, in 1980.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Margaret A. "Peg" Findley; one son, Wayne C. Findley of Middletown; two daughters, Brenda J. Milsom of Middletown and Beverly MacDonald and her husband Richard of Smyrna; two stepchildren, Mary K. Wilkus and Chuck Avery of Florida; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Warren Findley of Darlington, Md.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where family and friends may call one hour prior to service.

Interment will be held privately.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Mr. Findley's memory to Northern Chesapeake Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 2332, Elkton, MD 21922-2332.
