Harold F. "Mickey" Price, 84

MIDDLETOWN - Harold F. "Mickey" Price of Middletown passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, in Delaware Home and Hospital. He was 84.

Mr. Price was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Cecilton, Md., son of the late Annie E. Daniels and W. Preston Price.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 as a gunner"s mate 3rd class.

Mr. Price was a catcher for Cecilton and Warwick, and in 1940 was on the Cecil County championship team from Cecilton High. He farmed for many years and was also a heavy equipment operator.

He was an avid poker player.

Mr. price was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3792, where he served as post commander for five terms.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, W. Preston Price Jr. and Robert C. Price; and a sister, Mary.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna Ray Price; a son and a daughter-in-law, Phillip and Gail Price; three daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara and Frank Reed, Patsy Henderson and Ethel Young; a sister, Anna Virginia McCauley; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 North Broad St., Middletown.

Funeral services will be noon Wednesday in the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Old Saint Anne"s Cemetery, Middletown.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the VFW Woman"s Auxiliary 3792, P.O. Box 185, Middletown, DE 19709-0185.
