ELLENDALE, Del. - Hanna Heffner passed away peacefully at her home in Ellendale on Thursday, June 16, 2022, while under the loving care of her family.
Hanna was born in New York, N.Y. on March 31, 1941, to the late Frederick and Augusta (Korth) Wehden.
Hanna worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. She loved wildlife and was a supporter of the Audubon Society, World Wildlife Fund, and Defenders of Wildlife. She enjoyed spending time in nature, especially on the beach, in her garden, and watching birds.
In addition to her parents; Hanna was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Wehden; and her step-daughter, Caryn Calarie.
She is survived by her husband, David Heffner; her children, Kristine Manili, Michael Owens; and step-son, David Heffner, Jr.; her grandchildren, Joseph Manili, Julia Hannah Manili, Mike Robinson, Jr., Devin Calarie, Connor Calarie, and Tori Heffner; two great granddaughters, June Robinson and Grace Robinson; her brother, Fred Wehden; her nephews, Jaime Yeargans, Karl Wehden, and James Wehden; her niece, Shelly Wehden; and her grandnephews, Chazz Yeargans, and Henrick Wehden; and grandnieces, Ariella Yeargans and Isla Wehden.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St. Milford, DE 19963. A time of visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will be private.
