CAMDEN-WYOMING, DE - Gordon was born on May 13, 1935, in Denton, Maryland where he met and continued to maintain some lifetime friendships. He remained there until age 22 when he married Evelyn L. Good and traveled to Columbus, GA to fulfill his obligation for military service in the United States Army. He served at Fort Benning until coming to Milford, DE where he served additional time in the National Guard.
After 45 years at Playtex, then known as International Latex Corporation, Gordon retired from a world of producing, among other things, baby pants and girdles. Here he met and worked with many more lifelong friends. For the next 26 years, he worked in his garden, was a handyman to countless friends and family, and built a variety of things in his extensive woodshop, many of which are now treasured family heirlooms.
Gordon and Evelyn were married for 65 years. Gordon is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two children, daughter, Linda Dawn Hammond (Tim) and their children Timothy (Jenn), Tyler (Jamie); and their daughter, Annabelle, and Erik (Katlin); son, David Lewis Pearson (Michelle) and their children Zachary (Alexa) and Emily; a sister, Elinor Towers; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
