Gloria Lawrence Davis, 56
DOVER - Gloria Lawrence Davis of Dover died Monday, July 2, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 56.
Ms. Davis was born June 16, 1951, in Milford.
She began her education at the Booker T. Washington School, went on to Central Middle and graduated from Dover High School in 1969.
Ms. Davis was employed at Dover Downs with Delmarva Cleaning. She previously worked for Delaware Home and Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna, in the transportation department.
In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, TV and movies. She had a love for animals, especially horses and horseback riding. She also enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and helping others.
She was preceded in death by her father, Emmett Lawrence; and a daughter, Cornith Elizabeth Davis, in July 1993.
She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth (Perry) Lawrence of Dover; a son, James Earl Davis Jr. of Dover; and a daughter, Constance Louise Davis of Dover; three sisters, Shirley Perry Boyd of Clayton, Doris Cooper of Dover and Kimberly Lawrence of Glenn Burnie, Md.; five grandchildren, Danea Alyssia Davis, Deja Davis, Damiya Davis, Keon Stratton and Deon Stratton; five nieces, Sheron Perry, Tonicia Poe, Devon Shelton, Shauna Peterson and Shanae Boyd; two nephews, Eugene Boyd and Oliver Cooper IV; and an extended family of cousins, friends nieces and nephews.
Services will be noon Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church, Queen and Fulton streets, Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Barratt"s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
Arrangements by Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
