She was born on May 1, 1925 in Bridgeville, Del. daughter of the late Harvey and Delema (Conaway) Short. Glena married her high school sweetheart, Robert Smith, Jr. and they remained happily married for the next 63 years until his death in 2007. She was a lifelong member of the Union United Methodist Church where she enjoyed attending church services and spending time with her "special pew family." She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert D. Smith and his wife Stephanie of Milford, Del.; her daughter Glena Smith Huskey and her husband Ty of Seaford, Del.; her granddaughter Sara Smith of Milford, Del. and her grandson Christopher Huskey of Houston, Texas. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws Street, Bridgeville, Del., where friends may call beginning at 12 p.m. The Rev Dale Brown and Rev Paul Sherwood will be officiating. Interment will be at the Bridgeville Cemetery following the funeral service. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville, DE.
