Gilda G. Hendrickson, 73
FELTON - Gilda G. Hendrickson passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at home, surrounded by family.
She was born September 2, 1948, in Binalbagan, Philippines to the late Eulogio Gonzales and Aurora Camina.
Mrs. Hendrickson was born the youngest of ten children. In 1979, she married the love of her life, Paul David Hendrickson in Angeles City, Philippines. In 1983, they moved to Dover, Delaware in the United States. In her spare time, she liked to crochet, play bingo, and go to the slots or play mahjongg with her friends. She loved to sing and dance, but mostly, she loved to cook. She was an active member of her local Filipino Prayer Groups and Clubs, as well as a devout Catholic.
Gilda was a doting wife, a devoted mother to her children, a caring "mom" to her children's friends, and a good friend to all who knew her. Her favorite role, though, was as the loving "Lola" to her grandson. Spending time with Gilda always involved a lot of love, a lot of laughter, and a lot of food.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by brothers, Regino, Cirilo, Ernesto, Rogelio, Douglas, Juan; and sister, Rogelia.
Mrs. Hendrickson is survived by her husband of 42 years, Paul Hendrickson; children, Eric Hendrickson (Lacey) of Wilmington, Del., Aurora Hendrickson of Brooklyn, N.Y., David Hendrickson of Greensboro, N.C.; brother, Loreto Gonzales; sister, Dolores Entila; grandson, Geo Hendrickson; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2022, at Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover, Del. Friends may visit the evening prior, Sunday, March 6, 2022, between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Del. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Del.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to The Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund at the Perelman School of Medicine at University of Pennsylvania. (https://www.med.upenn.edu/pcrc/donate.html)
