She was born on Feb. 17, 1917, to Elizabeth and Julius L. Fisher.

During her years in Buffalo, Jere was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

After moving to Holland in 1957, Jere joined Emmanuel Lutheran Church in East Aurora.

In 1960, she started Jere's Cerama-Tiques in Holland and operated it until 1985.

A talented artist, some of her works were displayed at shows as far west as Chicago.

A frequent visitor to the Dover, Del., area, Jere loved to shop while visiting family and friends there.

Jere was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, A. Daniel Walling in 1991; and her only son, Douglas Lawrence in 1971.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Fintak of Newark, Del., and Judith Williams of Niagara Falls; her daughter-in-law, Evelyn Clements of Orchard Park; five grandchildren, Timothy, Carmen Marie, William Lee, Thomas, and Sean; and nine great-grandchildren.
