George E. Koppelman Jr.

Koppelman, Jr., 88 KENNEDYVILLE, Md. - George E. "Jun" Koppelman, Jr. died on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at his home. Mr. Koppelman was born on Jan. 26, 1925 in Baltimore, Md. He was the son of the late George Elmer Koppelman, Sr. and Carrie Klinger Koppelman. Following graduation from high school, he married Margaret Louise Geissdorfer. They lived in Rosedale, Baltimore County where Mr. Koppelman was a produce farmer before moving to Kennedyville in 1956. There, he and his wife farmed grain, pumpkins, and raised beef cattle. He worked together with his father on their family farms. Mr. Koppelman was a member of Highland Lodge #184 A.F. & A.M., Trinity Lutheran Church, the Kent County Farm Bureau, and the Maryland Farm Bureau. He enjoyed traveling extensively with his wife, spending time at their home in Florida, hunting, and the orioles and the iron birds where he was a season ticket holder. He also loved his family. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Conley and husband George of Kennedyville, Md.; a son, Larry Wayne Koppelman and wife Cynthia Billisits of Warren, Pa.; a granddaughter, Karen Lynn Conley of Kennedyville, Md.; two great-grandchildren, Brian Scott Conley and Joseph Edward Conley, both of Kennedyville, Md.; and two great-great grandchildren, Cole Louis Conley and Isabella Marie Horton. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Louise Koppelman in 2000; and his grandson, Edward Allen Conley in 2005. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, MD. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Lassahn Funeral Home, 7401 Belair Road Baltimore, MD., where relatives and friends may call one hour prior (1-2 p.m.) Interment will be in Parkwood Cemetery in Baltimore, MD following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 101 Greenwood Ave. Chestertown, MD 21620 or Chester Rive Homecare and Hospice 100 Brown St. Chestertown, MD 21620.
