George Charles Eilers Sr., 59 DOVER - George Charles Eilers Sr., died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, surrounded by his loving family, in Jefferson University Hospital for Neuroscience, Philadelphia. Mr. Eilers was born Oct. 2, 1949 in New Brunswick, N.J., to George Lester Eilers and Marie Doerr Eilers. Mr. Eilers served in the United States Air Force for 21 years, retiring in 1989 as a SMSgt. Following his retirement, he was an Auditor for the State of Delaware for 20 Years. Most recently, he was the Finance Director for the City of Harrington. Mr. Eilers obtained an AAS from the Community College of the Air Force and Penn State University, a BA from Wilmington College, and MSM from Troy State University. During his sons Little League years, Mr. Eilers served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Camden-Wyoming Little League, where he also umpired. He enjoyed Friday night dates with his wife and supporting his children in all of their endeavors. Mr. Eilers was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diane M. Eilers of Dover. He is also survived by three children, George Eilers Jr. and his wife Christina, David Eilers, and Anmarie and her husband Donald Stiller. He was a Pop-Pop to Leo William Eilers, and anxiously awaiting a second grandchild, due in April. In addition he is survived by a brother, Michael Eilers of N.J.; and a very special Aunt and Uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Stetzko, also of N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Route 10). Burial will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 100 Patriots Way, Millsboro. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guest book signed at
