MARYDEL, Md. - Gary J. Parenteau of Marydel died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, in the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 53.
Born in Manchester, N.H., Mr. Parenteau was the son of Wilfred A. and Marion L. Parenteau, both of Denton.
He moved to Denton as a child and graduated from North Caroline High School.
Mr. Parenteau had worked at Playtex, Dover, for 27 years.
In 2002, he became the vice president of operations for the Delmarva Material Handling Co.
He also loved to coach athletics. Through the years, he coached basketball, softball, baseball and tennis.
Most recently, he became a certified instructor for the National Sporting Clay Association.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Parenteau is survived by his wife of 31 years, Pamela A. Parenteau of Marydel; two daughters, Michelle Schrabel and her husband Erik of Hagerstown and Melanie Parenteau of Baltimore; four brothers, Rick Parenteau and his wife Sue, Marty Parenteau and his wife Linda of Henderson, Jeff Parenteau and his wife Bernice and Tom Parenteau, all of Denton.
The funeral service will be noon Saturday in the Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton, where friends may call one hour prior.
The interment will be in Denton Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests sending donations in memory of Gary to the Kent County American Heart Association, 1151 Walker Road, Dover, DE 19904.
