LEWES - Frederick W. Haas Jr. of Lewes, formerly of Rehoboth Beach and Exton, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 66.
Mr. Haas was born March 31, 1941, in Holyoke, Mass., son of Anne Victoria (Maruszak) Haas of South Hadley Falls, Mass., and the late Frederick W. Haas Sr.
After retiring as a franchise sales manager for Cottman Transmission and Tinderbox, he worked part-time in the food service department of Cape May-Lewes Ferry. Most recently, he worked for Atlantic Logistics as manager of Sussex County Van Drivers for Pilot"s Association.
Mr. Haas was a member of the Masonic Middlesex Lodge, Framingham, Mass.
He enjoyed boating, gardening and traveling, and he loved his dogs.
Mr. Haas was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Doris Jean Haas; his son, Jeffrey A. Haas of Tampa, Fla.; his daughter, Laurie E. Byerley and her husband Charles of Dublin, Pa,; and five grandchildren, Tyler J. Haas and Dillon M. Haas, both of Tampa, William E. Walton V of Lewes, and Sarah R. Byerley and Jessica T. Byerley, both of Dublin.
All services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
