GEORGETOWN - Franklin James Warrington Sr., passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, in Milford Memorial Hospital Bay Health. He was 83. Mr. Warrington was born in Georgetown, the son of the late Cordia and Edna Foskey Warrington. He worked as a roofer from 1947 to his retirement in 2005 for many years. He attended the First Baptist Church of Georgetown. He enjoyed stock car racing and making lawn ornaments. Mr. Warrington was a World War II Navy Veteran. In addition to this parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Doris Jane Warrington, 2002; a brother, Cordia Warrington III; and two sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Tice and Marjorie Hitchens. He is survived by his three children, Cordia Warrington and his wife Jean, of Georgetown, Glenda Williams, of Georgetown, and Frank J. Warrington Jr. and his wife Sylvia, of Georgetown; two brothers, Harvey Warrington, of Georgetown, and Harold Warrington, of Florida; three grandchildren, Brent Warrington, Leslie Rementer and Belinda Rodearmel; and five great-grandchildren. A Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, Inc., 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, where friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Cokesbury Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; and/or Feed the Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101-0036. Arrangements by Short Funeral Services.
