Forrest William Snelling

HARTLY - Forrest "Bill" William Snelling died on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at his home. He was born in Garden City on the farm in Kansas to the late Oscar and Nell Phillips Snelling, on April 19, 1925. Mr. Snelling attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Marydel, Md. He was a veteran of the US Navy and the US Air Force serving during WW II and Vietnam. He later worked for the State of Delaware in the Traffic Division. He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Doris Mae Wright Snelling in 1998; a daughter, Dale Sampson Levin; grandson, Michael Todd Deering; brothers, Jack Snelling and Glen Snelling, and a sister, Muriel Snelling. He is survived by his son, George R. Deering and his wife Cheryl of Camden; son in law, Eliot Levin; grandson, Mathew Levin; granddaughter and her husband, Megan and Sean Byron. Friends may call from 11 a.m to noon on Monday, July 23, 2012. Funeral services will be held at noon in the Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus St., Dover, Delaware. Burial will be held in the Garden of Honor/Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be given to your local USO.
