Florence E. Reed, 90

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Florence E. Reed, of Chestertown, formerly of Middletown, Del., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at Chester River Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chestertown. She was 90.

Mrs. Reed was born July 31, 1917, in Townsend, to the late Wilbur S. and Rachel Burge Waters.

She graduated from Galena High School and attended Goldey-Beacom College.

Mrs. Reed worked as a business partner with her late husband on a farm near Middletown.

She was active in the Townsend Home Demonstration Club and was an avid china painter.

Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, Millard F. Reed; and a son, Donald R. Reed.

She is survived by a son, Millard F. Reed Jr. of Chestertown; a daughter, Joan R. Crowley of Rehoboth Beach; five grandchildren, William Reed and his wife Ruth, Robin May, Jonathan Reed and his wife Jane, Griffith Reed and his wife Kelly, and Hunter Reed; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Immanuel Methodist Church, 209 W. Main Street, Townsend, DE 19734.
