HARRINGTON - Faye Melitta Shelley of Harrington went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 6, 2007, in her home. She was 43.
Mrs. Shelley was born in Queens, N.Y., daughter of William Shelley of Philadelphia and Deartha Conyers of Harrington.
She attended school in the Lake Forest School District.
Mrs. Shelley participated in the Special Olympics program through John S. Charlton School.
After high school she was employed with Kent-Sussex Industries and Scott Paper Co.
Mrs. Shelley enjoyed life and made friends easily. She was well-liked by all she came in contact with. She was outgoing and will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian J. Shelley; and her grandfather, Charlie Conyers.
She is survived by her parents, Curtis and Deartha Conyers of Harrington; a godmother with whom she was very close, Jeanette Stroud of Dover; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Yvette and Patrick Guinn Sr. of Dover, Jacqueline Shelley-Snipes of Bridgeville, Brenda Conyers of Harrington; a brother, Michael Shelley of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Shequanda Merrell of Dover; a grandson, Bryan Merrell of Dover; aunts, Minnie Brummell of Milford, Lydia Ann Merrell, Bertha Harris and Betty Blocker, all of Dover, Edna Conyers and Annette Conyers, both of Faison, N.C., Lucille Henderson of Brooklyn, N.Y., Lynelle Merrell and Henrietta Merrell, both of Dover; nephews, Patrick Guinn Jr. and Tajh Guinn, both of Dover; a long time friend, Harvey Merrell of Dover; her grandmother, Lillie Mae Conyers of Faison; an uncle, Charlie Conyers of Faison; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Star Hill AME Church, Camden, where friends may call one hour earlier.
