Fannie N. Bartsch

Fannie N. Bartsch TOWNSEND, DE - Fannie N. Bartsch, age 89, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2010. Fannie was born in Milton, on October 30, 1920. She enjoyed camping and traveling trips with her family. She was a homemaker who loved having company and preparing meals for them. In her earlier years, she worked at St. Andrews School. Most of Fannie's life was spent living and working on the farm. She also owned and operated a gas station with a small restaurant and motels in Smyrna with her husband. Fannie was a very dedicated and caring mother who will be sadly missed by her family. Fannie was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Harry W. Bartsch, Sr. on June 18, 2004. She also had one brother and two sisters that preceded her. She is survived by a daughter, and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and James Biddle of New Castle; six sons and five daughter-in-laws, John and Sandi Bartsch of Dover, Frank and Sharlene Bartsch of Townsend, Robert and Penny Bartsch of Townsend, Donald and Leslie Bartsch of Hurlock, Md., Kenneth Bartsch of Fla., and Billy and Jane Bartsch of Townsend; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Monday, May 17, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with funeral services to begin at 12:00 p.m. at Daniel & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, DE. Interment will be in Townsend Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Nemours' Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, 1600 Rockland Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
