BRIDGEVILLE - Everett C. Hunley passed away at his daughters home in Bridgeville on April 2, 2013. He was born on Nov. 14, 1914 in Roanoke, Va. Everett was a decorated WWII glider pilot. He worked as a flight instructor for several years and was employed by Philadelphia Electric Company, Construction Division, until his retirement in 1976. He was past master at the W.K. Bray Masonic Lodge in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Walter C. Hunley; his wife, Claudia; five sisters, Ethel Beahm, Ruth Tutlow, Myrtle Miller, Edna Conaway, Aleine Christopher; one brother, Lewis Hunley; and one grandson, Steven Strassacker. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara J. Freitag and her husband Robert of Bridgeville; son Walter E. Hunley and his wife Misao of Brunswick, Ga.; three grandchildren, Frank E. Strassacker and wife Patricia, JoAnne E. Peters, Karen Young and husband Kendall; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. As he wished, all arrangements will be announced in the near future.
