Everett Arthur Marvil

GREENWOOD - Everett Arthur Marvil, Sr. of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016. Mr. Marvil was born March 12, 1934 in Delaware, the son of the late Arthur and Nora (Wroten) Marvil. Mr. Marvil retired from DuPont in Seaford, with 40 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with family, visiting Lancaster, Pa., traveling to South Carolina, and watching his grandchildren play baseball as well as watching television shows from the past. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Catherine McDowell Marvil, in 2014. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah A. and Marion Thomas, of S.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Everett A. Jr. and Amy Marvil, Robert and Debra Marvil, all of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Stephanie Marvil and Chase Marvil, both of Greenwood, Jennifer Larch and Carrie Kirby, both of S.C.; five great-grandchildren, Conner Marvil and Elizabeth Johnson, both of Greenwood, Kaleb Hinkle, Chloe Hinkle and Brycen Larch, all of S.C.; and a sister, Emma Jean Wilson of Greenwood. Services were private at his request. Burial was at St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
