Evelyn Rae Lewis, 84
MILFORD - Evelyn Rae Lewis passed away peacefully at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford after battling a long illness. Rae was born in Crisfield, Md. the daughter of the late Charles Linwood "Sutag" Landon, Sr. and Evelyn Frances Howard Landon.
She worked as a bank teller first at Milford Trust Bank then at W.S.F.S. for several years before retiring. Rae was a member of the Milford Church of God. She was devoted to the Lord and also to her family, and deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren unconditionally.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Lewis; and a brother, Charles Linwood "Sonny" Landon, Jr.
She is survived by her four sons, Lawrence "Larry" Lewis, Jr., Kevin Lewis, David Lewis (Wendy), and John "Woody" Lewis (Patty); 12 grandchildren, Marti Whitley (Stephen), Lindsay Lewis, Landon Lewis, Katelyn Ellingsworth (Jeremy), Casie Lewis, Brandon Betts, Cortney Wimer (Dennis), Ashley Gray, Brooke Lewis, Danielle Lewis, Kellie Smitherman, and Jackie Goebel (Shane); 14 grandchildren; and one sister, Jeannie Ward (Paul).
A Celebration of Rae's Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the Milford Church of God, 500 North Walnut Street, Milford.
