Evelyn Diehl, 91

DOVER - Evelyn Diehl of Dover died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, in Courtland Manor Nursing Home, Dover. She was 91.

Mrs. Diehl was born Feb. 16, 1915, in Portage, Pa., daughter of the late Daniel George and Celestia (Earnest) George.

She retired in 1979 after 20 years as a sewing machine operator for International Playtex Inc.

She loved quilting for her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Diehl was a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church, Dover and Modern Maturity Center, Dover.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clair Diehl in 1981; and two sons, Robert Diehl and Gerald Diehl.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Terry and Christy Diehl and David Diehl, all of Dover; five daughters and four brothers-in-law, Linda and James Rash of Wyoming, Del., Sherry and David Gary of Wyoming, Del., Karen and James Gary of Hartly, Barbara and Walter Cullum of Hagerstown, Md., and Betty Gravley of Knoxville, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Anna Diehl of Goldsboro, N.C.; 29 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
