Eula was born on Oct. 18, 1924 in Forest Hill, W.V., to the late Claude and Vesta Belcher Mitchell. She worked various jobs throughout her life, most notably as a shipping/receiving clerk for the DuPont Co. from which she retired. A farm girl at heart, Eula loved vegetable gardening, and working with the horses that her husband Al trained at their farm. She also enjoyed attending and having yard sales. She is survived by her son, Alfred Sheats Jr. and wife Sandy of Bear, Del.; daughters, Barbara Nieslawski of Dover, Del., and Betty Fox of Newark, Del.; brother, Billy Mitchell and wife Ramona of West Virginia; eight grand children; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Sheats; and brother, James Mitchell. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711 where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in New Castle, DE. To send condolences visit www.rtfoard.com
