DOVER - Eugene Rex Park Sr., passed away Monday, July 6, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was 76. He was born Sept. 21, 1932 in Henderson, Md., son of the late Rex and Jessie (Hunt) Park. Eugene served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Eugene was the owner of Park Vending and Food Service for over 30 years and later ran the Camden Deli for 10 years. In life he loved to travel and enjoyed boating, fixing cars, listening to country music, NASCAR, going to the beach, taking long walks, preparing big Sunday dinners for his family, and most of all spending time with his loving wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a kind and loving man with a big heart and he took great pleasure in helping others. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Adeline Park; three children, Eugene R. Park Jr. of Felton, Patricia Zielen of Viola, and Sandra Griffith of Dover; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Naomi Wiedman of Dixon, Tenn. and Eleanor Deaver of Philadelphia, Pa. Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 10 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
