WILMINGTON - Eugene E. "Chuck" Taylor II of Wilmington departed this life Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, in Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark. He was 55.

He was born at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Fairborn, Ohio, into a military family that resided in many other states and countries.

His early education began in London and continued in public schools wherever his father was stationed. He was a graduate of Dover Air Base High School in 1969 just prior to the closure of that school. He was a graduate of University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, Princess Anne, Md., and did graduate study at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Ky.

He was a history buff and devoted much of his time to writing and freelance photography. In fact, to many of his associates in Wilmington, he was known as "Snapshot."

He was predeceased by his father, Eugene E. Taylor, Sr.; and a sister, Mary Susan Taylor.

Survivors include his mother, Lawrece St. Clair "Skip" Taylor of Dover; a sister, Nancy Taylor Hall and her sons Alexander and Bryce Hall of Wilmington; a sister, Leslie Taylor of Hollywood, Fla.; a brother, Richard St. Clair Taylor and sons Zane and Zachary of Louisville; cousins of Louisville and Seattle; and many friends and extended family members in Dover and Wilmington.

Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in St. Joseph"s Catholic Church, 1012 N. French St., Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to "The Soup Kitchen," Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church, 101 N. Queen St., Dover, DE 19904.

Funeral arrangements provided by Torbert Funeral Chapel, Dover.
