Ethel Smith Reed

SMYRNA - Ethel Smith Reed, of Smyrna, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at Pinnacle Health Care, Smyrna. She was 69. Mrs. Reed was born Sept. 18, 1941, in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Collins Smith, Sr. and Caroline M. Weiant. She worked for 20 years for the Harris Clothing Factory in Smyrna. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the Dover Downs Slots. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Smith. She is survived by five brothers, Collins Smith, Jr. of Wilmington, Lawrence A. Smith of Venice, Fla., and George Smith, Robert Smith, and Francis Smith, all of Wilmington; her special cousins who spent a lot of time with her and helped cared for her, Liz and Laura; and extended family members. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna. Graveside services will 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, in Gracelawn Memorial Park, Wilmington. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
