Emily C. (Johnson) Ewing, 95

BRIDGEVILLE - Emily C. (Johnson) Ewing of Bridgeville, formerly of Stevensville on Kent Island, Md., died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, in Lofland Life Care, Seaford, from complications of a stroke. She was 95.

Mrs. Ewing was born June 30, 1911, in Centerville, Md., daughter of the late Charles E. and Nellie (Cohee) Johnson.

Mrs. Ewing was an avid card player and especially enjoyed visits from her children, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Wesley Ewing Jr. in 1988.

She is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Connie E. and Bill Hartzell of Bridgeville; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Kyle W. and Barbara Ewing of Haines City, Fla. and Dudley C. and Pat Ewing of Bridgeville; a sister, Nellie Beard of Seaford; a brother, Charles E. Johnson Jr. of Trappe, Md.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Revs. Al Taylor and Joseph Barth will officiate.

Burial will follow in Bridgeville Cemetery.
