Elmer Minner, 81

HARRINGTON - Elmer Minner of Harrington died Thursday, June 28, 2007, in his home. He was 81.

Mr. Minner was born in Felton, son of the late Cordry and Emma Minner.

He retired from William V. Sipple & Son Monument Co. after 47 years of dedicated employment. In his younger years, he used to raise ponies.

In his spare time, he enjoyed watching his soaps and watching NASCAR. His favorite driver was Jimmie Johnson, and every race he"d watch, he would exclaim, "Where"s my Jimmie?"

Mr. Minner enjoyed going to Arby"s almost every day and socializing with his friends. He was so much of a regular at Arby"s that the employees would even call him to help close the restaurant, which he enjoyed.

He will be remembered as a jolly person who made a lot of friends. He will be missed by all.

Mr. Minner was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge 534.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Minner; brothers, Norman Minner, James Minner and Clifton Minner; a sister, Clora Bennet; and a niece, Theresa Thompson.

He is survived by nieces, Mae Maloney of Lincoln and Debbie Hoff of Dover; nephews, Leon Minner of Wilmington and Preston Minner of Houston; and several great- and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
