Pepper, 75 GEORGETOWN - Elizabeth L. Pepper passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Betty was born in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late William N. Sr., and Anna E. (Wickowski) LeGates. She worked in the business office for Diamond State Telephone Company in Georgetown, for 16 years, retiring in 1973. Betty was a member of Grace Church in Milton. She loved and was very proud of her two sons and adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, needlework, crocheting and traveling. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by two brothers, John W. LeGates and William N. LeGates, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas R. Pepper, Jr.; two sons, Thomas R. Pepper, III and wife Kelly and William N. Pepper and wife Amy; two grandchildren, T. Brandon Pepper and Amelia E. Pepper; and a brother, Clement S. "Clem" LeGates. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton with visitation after 12 p.m. Burial will be in Harbeson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty's memory can be made to Grace Church, Building Fund, 514 Union Street, Milton, De 19968.
