Elizabeth Ann 'Betty Boop' Moran, 58

DOVER - Elizabeth Ann "Betty Boop" Moran of Dover died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, in her home. She was 58.

Mrs. Moran was born Dec. 26, 1947, in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Joseph Eugene and Edna Mae (McCafferty) Kelly.

She was a caregiver for the elderly, as well as a driver for the local Amish. She had been a childcare worker for 10 years and had also worked at Playtex as a custodian.

She enjoyed quilting and doing crafts. She loved animals, especially squirrels and birds.

Mrs. Moran was an unselfish person who made sure everyone else was taken care of first. She loved being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Moran Sr., on July 5, 1994; and a brother, Joseph Kelly, in 2000.

She is survived by four sons, Mike Moran of Abington Township, Pa., John Moran of McGaheysville, Va., Edward Moran Jr. of Camden and Joseph Moran of Hartly; a daughter, Patricia Moran of Tennessee; three sisters, Rose Byers, Edna Brogan and Arlene Neumann, all of Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Del. 10, Dover, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901; American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720; or Catholic Charities, Kent County, 1155 W. Walker Road, Dover, DE 19904.
