MIDDLETOWN - Edward L. Burks Sr., of Middletown, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was 56.

Mr. Burks worked for DuPont, where he began his career as a machine operator and was later promoted to supervisor, supervising as many as 80 employees. He was later promoted as a company auditor, a position he held until his retirement following 31 years of dedicated service.

He loved Nissan 300ZX sport cars.

Mr. Burks was an excellent craftsman, known by many for his talent to build anything, with his favorite gifts being tools.

He is survived by his loving and devoted family, a daughter, Tisha Burks; a son, Edward L. Burks Jr.; five loving grandchildren, Lacole, Alyssa, Makayla, Brooke and Alexander, and a special individual, Connie Burks.

Funeral services are private.
