SMYRNA - Edward J. Goggin III of Smyrna died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in his home. He was 46.
Mr. Goggin was born Aug. 30, 1960, in Philadelphia, son of the late Edward J. Goggin II and Elizabeth Mary Westergon.
He had previously worked for the Smyrna School District, Earl's Mini Mart in Clayton and as a bartender and maintenance man for the Clayton Fire Co.
Mr. Goggin was a member of the Clayton Fire Co., where he served on the board of directors.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Carson) Goggin; a son, Christopher Goggin of Smyrna; a daughter, Alicia Goggin of Smyrna; four brothers, Terry Goggin of Georgetown, Michael Goggin of Fayetteville, Tenn., Joseph Goggin of Smyrna and David Franklin of Elkton, Md.; five sisters, Anna Marie Williams of Collins Lake, N.J., Bernadette Bednarik of Sicklesville, N.J., Barbara McBride of Smyrna, Debbie Franklin of Tampa, Fla., and Rose Briggs of Cobleskill, N.Y.; an aunt, Rita Flynn of Prospect Park, Pa.; and 47 nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Friends may also call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Clayton Fire Co., P.O. Box 1050, Clayton, DE 19938.
