Edward 'Buddy' Collins Jr., 68

SEAFORD - Edward "Buddy" Collins Jr., of Seaford, died April 3, 2009. He was 68. He was born Aug. 30, 1940, to the late Edward Mumford and Christil Collins-Banks. He owned and operated his own Masonry Contracting Business. He was a member of the Dagsboro Church of God. He was a Christian man, who was of few words, but said what he meant, and meant what he said. He was a Jack-of-all-trades, and Master of All. He was also known for his lawn care and snow removal services. He never complained, and loved and cherished his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and provider. He is survived by his darling wife whom he loved and cared for deeply, Amy Louise-Maker Collins. In addition, he is survived by his children, Annette Gibbs of Newbern, N.C., Edward Gibbs Jr. of Smyrna, Michael Gibbs of Georgetown, Brenda K. Gibbs of Millsboro, Debra Ann Gibbs of Bridgeville, Raymond Bernard Gibbs of Georgetown, Jacqueline Dunn and husband Donald of Grove City, N.C., and Edwin Juan Collins and his wife Asuima of Atlanta, Ga., Vance Dallas Collins, and his wife Melissa of Georgetown, Christil Letecia Maker, and TyAsia Mone't Collins of Seaford; five sisters, Estelle Mackey and husband Gilbert of Millsboro, Gloria Mumford of Washington, D.C., Alice Mumford of Bishopville, Md., Emma Lee Savage and her husband Anthony of Cool Springs, and Lucille Banks of Cool Springs; and three brothers, Melvin Lee Collins, and his wife Charlotte of Georgetown, Thomas Mumford of Bishopville, Md., and Reles Atlas Banks of Cool Springs; 15 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. He also leaves four brothers-in-law, James Palmer and his wife Joyce of Dover, Steven Maker and his wife Janet of Harbeson, Anthony Taylor and his wife Angela of Lewes, and Curtis Maker of Lewes; and four sisters-in-law, Deborah Cannon of Dover, Sherry Henry and her husband Jerry of Millsboro, Trudy Maker of Milton, and Iona Maker of Lewes. Also survived by his father-in-law, John Maker Jr. and mother-in-law, Ruth Maker of Lewes; and many more relatives "too numerous to name…" Services will be noon Saturday, April 11, at Dickersons Chapel A.M.E. on Highway 113 in Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Richard Worthy will officiate. Interment will be in Zoar Golden Acres, Bishopville, Md. Flowers are welcome. Letters of condolence may be emailed via www.watsonfh.com.
