Edward C. Clark Sr.

CLAYTON - Edward C. Clark Sr., 86, of Clayton, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 21, 2011. Born May 2, 1925, in Dover, he was the son of Daniel Collins and Rachel (Carlisle) Clark. In 1948, he married Mary M. DiEleuterio. He joined the Marine Corp in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked on the railroad, DiSabatino Construction Co. In 1958, Mr. Clark, his wife, Mary and their three children owned and operated Blackiston Grocery Store until retiring in 1978. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary of 40 years; and his granddaughter, Mary (Missy) Daisey Mullins. He is survived by his daughter, Rose (Kenny) Daisey; sons, Danny and Eddie (Robin); grandchildren, George Daisey (Melanie) of Indiana, Debra Davis (Tim) of Georgia; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Greg, Angela, Abigail, Trista and Bryan; great-great-grandchildren, Lyndon Friday of Indiana, and Owen and Luke Price; and a special friend, Doris Brown. Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at 1 p.m., in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faries Funeral Home, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, DE 19977, to help defray the funeral expenses. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
