INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. - Edward A. Paris, of North Carolina, formerly of Millville, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Indian Trail. He was 79.
He was born in Baltimore on Feb. 3, 1929, son of the late Edward and Bertha Paris.
Mr. Paris was a devoted husband and father, always offering a helpful hand whether as Little League coach, scout leader or as stage hand for numerous dance recitals and plays.
He was an accomplished musician and was skilled in various types of mechanical repair.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and retired as a mechanical inspector for the city of Baltimore.
Mr. Paris also served as Governor of the Essex Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Clara Mae Paris; and his son Michael Paris.
He is survived by a daughter, Michelle Sigler of Charlotte; grandchildren, Michael Paris Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fla., Christopher Paris of Baltimore, Jesse and Veronica Sigler of Charlotte; a brother, Ramon Paris of Baltimore; a sister, Bernice Ellenberger of Millers, Md.; and many other beloved family members and friends.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses, caregivers, staff and friends at Lake Park and Sunrise of South Charlotte for all of their love and support.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, West Ave., Ocean View.
Interment will follow at St. George's Cemetery, Clarksville.
