Edith M. Garrison, 90

FRANKFORD - Edith M. Garrison of Frankford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, in her home, surrounded by family members. She was 90.

She was born on Oct. 8, 1916, in Accomack County, Va., the third of 13 children to the late Hobb and Elnora Garrison.

Ms. Garrison was a member of The Apostolic Faith Church of Jesus Christ the Lord, Inc., Millsboro, where she was called "Mother Drummond" by all of the church members.

She retired from the industrial industry when she was at the age of 62.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie H. Slade; second husband, Fred D. Drummond; and her eldest child, Willie F. Slade, of Louisville, Ky., who passed away Feb. 6, 2007; five sisters, Ruth I. Garrison, Mabel N. Garrison, Annie E. Garrison, Margaret Garrison and Mary J. White; and six brothers, Cecyl L. Garrison, Ernest L. Garrison, Louis A. Garrison, Edward L Garrison, Milton Garrison and Hobb Garrison Jr.

Ms. Garrison is survived by a brother, Leroy Garrison, of Neptune, N.J.; six daughters, Edith Wescott of Dover, Phillis Thomas of Dover, Sheila Slade of Frankford, Wynita Slade of Georgetown, Lovey Godwin and her husband, Woodrow of Millsboro, and Sabara Brady and her husband, James of Felton; one son, Fred Slade of Dover; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Millsboro.

Memorial Service will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. at The Apostolic Faith Church of Jesus Christ the Lord, Inc, Sussex 297, Millsboro.

Burial will be at Zoars-Golden Acres Memorial Cemetery, Bishopville, Md.

Flowers and condolences may be sent to Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St., Dover.
