Douglas D. Pointer

BRIDGEVILLE - Douglas D. Pointer passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018 at, Seaford Center Nursing Home. He was born in Clayton, Ga., on Feb. 19, 1941, son of the late Dennis and Rachael (Chappell) Pointer.
Mr. Pointer received his Master's Degree from Georgia Tech. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked for the majority of his career as an electrical engineer at Delmarva Power. Mr. Pointer enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was a member of the Atlanta Road Alliance Church in Seaford, where he taught Sunday school. He loved to read, especially the Bible. He was also a member of the Pioneer Club.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pointer was preceded in death by his son, Michael Pointer; sister, Caroline Ganu; and his step mother, Viola Pointer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine M. Pointer of Bridgeville; his brother, Douglas Pointer and his wife, Louise of Gainesville, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 12 p.m. at Atlanta Road Alliance Church, 22625 Atlanta Road, Seaford, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
Burial will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lawn Croft Cemetery, 1000 West Ridge Road, Linwood, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Pointer's name to the Atlanta Road Alliance Church, to the address listed above.
