Dorothy Louise "Dot" Webb, 85

ROME, Ga. - Mrs. Dorothy Louise "Dot" Webb of Rome died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, in a local hospital, Rome. She was 85.

Mrs. Webb was born May 1, 1921, in Kenton, daughter of the late Frank W. and Lula (Walls) Stevens. She resided most of her life in Delaware, moving to Rome six years ago.

She retired from the University of Delaware in 1980.

Mrs. Webb was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion of 40 years, Sam Berkheiser; a daughter, Sandra Ellen Webb; two brothers, Franklin Stevens and Tommy Stevens; three sisters, Fairlee Stevens, Ida Jester and Gladys McVicker.

She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Thadda and Raymond Sockriter of Milton and Jacky and Herman Dillard of Rome; two brothers, A.E. Stevens and James D. Stevens, both of Greenwood; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at a later date in Sutlersville, Md., with Mrs. Webb"s grandson, the Rev. Raymond Sockriter Jr., officiating.
