OAK ORCHARD - Dorothy Gant was raised and lived in Pennsville, N.J. and moved to Oak Orchard, Del. 13 years ago. She passed away on Thurs., July 25, 2013 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. She was born on Sat., Feb. 18, 1943 at Salem Memorial Hospital in Salem, N.J. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Hilda and John Scott. Words cannot describe the faith and loved Dorothy had for her family and friends. She always had a smile on her face and love and kindness in her heart. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Donald Gant. Surviving to cherish her memories are; her husband of 52 years, Howard H. Gant of Oak Orchard, Del.; two sons, Howard L. Gant (Mary) of Mill Creek, Del., and Dale Gant (Elizabeth) of Oak Orchard, Del. She is also survived by sister, Debbie Renauro (Bob) of Woodbury, N.J.; brother, Richard Scott of Wilmington, Del.; her aunts, Dulcie Scott of Pennsville, N.J. and Olive DeFino of Cleveland, Ohio; and her six grandchildren, Corey, Wesley, Abbey, Dain, Kayla and Matthew. The viewing and services will be held at Ashcraft Funeral Home, 740 S. Broadway, Pennsville, NJ on Thurs., Aug. 1, 2013. The viewing will start at 11 a.m. followed by services at noon. Burial will be at Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution in Dorothy' name to Community Church of Oak Orchard, 32615 Oak Orchard Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966. www.ashcraftfuneralhomes.com
