Dorothy E. Lofland, 83

GREENWOOD - Dorothy E. Lofland of Greenwood died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, in the Milford Center. She was 83.

Mrs. Lofland was born July 27, 1923, in Lincoln, daughter of the late Henry T. and Anna Warren.

She was an employee with DuPont Nylon Plant in Seaford in the early 1940s, a cafeteria manager for the Woodbridge Elementary School/Greenwood High School for 30 years, retiring in 1991, and worked part-time at Elmer's Market in Greenwood.

Mrs. Lofland was a member of the Sussex Chapter of Eastern Star, Greenwood Cheer Center and the St. Johnstown Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, in the WSCS and on the board of trustees.

She loved to shop, cook, work in her yard and especially spend time with her family. She was a truly great wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a wonderful friend. She will be sadly missed by all her loved ones.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Lofland Sr.; three sisters, Grace Kibler, Estella Watson and Harriett VanVorst; and a brother, William "Toby" Warren.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna Henry and her husband Bruce of Greenwood; a son, Donald A. Lofland Jr. and his wife Rita of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Brian and Aimee Henry, Brent Henry, Derek Lofland and Devon Lofland; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Sarah Henry; a sister, Alice Granier of Harahan, La.; two brothers, Asa P. Warren of Milford and Robert A. Warren of Lincoln; two sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Johnstown Methodist Church, Greenwood, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in the St. Johnstown Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Johnstown Church, P.O. Box 124, Greenwood, DE 19950.
